1.2 Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit the platform. We also use similar technologies, such as local storage and session storage. They help the platform remember you, keep you signed in, and work correctly.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
2.1 These cannot be disabled: the platform does not work without them.
- Authentication — keeps you signed in;
- Security — CSRF protection and session validation;
- Cart — remembers your marketplace cart;
- Language — stores your preferred language (English, French, Japanese or Korean).
3. Functional cookies
3.1 These improve your experience but are not strictly required.
- theme preference (light or dark mode);
- browsing history within the platform;
- interface preferences and collapsed states.
4. Analytics and performance
4.1 These help us understand how people use the platform: usage metrics such as page views and session duration, and error tracking so we can find and fix problems faster.
5. Recommendation and personalisation
5.1 These power the recommendation engine described in section 6 of Privacy & Data Usage: what you look at and for how long, the categories and fandoms you engage with, and what you search for and click.
6. Third-party cookies
6.1 We use minimal third-party cookies: Vercel BotID, for bot detection during sensitive actions.
7. How long they last
7.1 A session cookie is deleted when you close your browser. A persistent cookie lasts between 30 days and 1 year, depending on its purpose. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings.
8. Managing cookies
8.1 You can control cookies through your browser settings, which let you block or delete them. Blocking a strictly necessary cookie will break core functionality, such as signing in, your cart, or your language preference.
8.2 There is no industry standard for "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them. We respect your browser's own cookie settings instead.
9. Your consent
9.1 Under Québec's Law 25 and the GDPR, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies on your first visit, and you can change your choice at any time in your account settings.
