1. Why this document exists
1.1 United States law requires an online marketplace to collect and verify identifying information from sellers who reach a high volume of sales, and to disclose some of it to buyers. This document says what we collect, what we show, and how to reach us. It applies in addition to section 7.3 of our Terms of Service, under which every seller who sells as part of a trade or business must say so, regardless of volume.
2. Who is a high-volume seller
2.1 You are a high-volume seller in a given period if you reach the thresholds set by the INFORM Consumers Act, counted per calendar year.
3. What we collect from a high-volume seller
3.1 Bank account information, contact information, a government-issued identification number or a tax identification number, and a working email address and telephone number.
4. What we show to buyers
4.1 For a high-volume seller who reaches the disclosure threshold, we show on the listing and in the order confirmation the seller's name, their business address, and a way to contact them. A seller who does not have a separate business address may ask us to withhold it where the law allows.
5. Certifying your information
5.1 If you are a high-volume seller, we ask you to confirm once a year that the information we hold about you is still accurate, and to tell us within ten days when it changes. If you do not answer, we suspend your ability to sell until you do.
6. Reporting a suspicious listing
6.1 Every listing carries a way to report it. You may also write to legal@tokyofishmarket.com. Use this route if you believe an item is counterfeit, stolen, or otherwise unlawful to sell. To report content for another reason, see Reporting Illegal Content and Appealing Our Decisions.
7. How we protect what we collect
7.1 Identification numbers and bank account information collected under this document are used only to verify your identity, to comply with the law, and to pay you. We do not publish them. How we handle personal information generally is described in our Privacy & Data Usage policy.
8. Changes and contact
8.1 We change this document only as section 19 of the Terms of Service allows. Every version is kept and dated. You can read the history from the link at the foot of this page.
