Cancellation and Pre-Order Policy

This policy explains how cancellations work for standard orders, pre-orders, and subscriptions on Tokyofishmarket. We want to be transparent about what you can expect when you change your mind or need to cancel.

Standard orders

You can cancel a standard order any time before it ships. Once an order has been packed and handed to the carrier, it cannot be cancelled. At that point, you would need to follow our return and refund process after receiving the item.

  • To cancel, contact us at support@tokyofishmarket.com with your order number
  • If the order hasn't shipped, we cancel it and issue a full refund to your original payment method within 5 business days
  • If the order has already shipped, we cannot cancel — you may request a return once delivered

Pre-orders

Pre-orders are commitments to purchase items that are not yet in stock or not yet released. Because we source limited-edition and imported collectibles, pre-orders help us plan inventory and secure allocations from manufacturers.

Cancellation window

  • You may cancel a pre-order within 48 hours of placing it, for any reason, and receive a full refund
  • After the 48-hour window, pre-orders are considered final and cannot be cancelled
  • If we are unable to fulfill a pre-order due to manufacturer delays, production cancellations, or allocation shortages, we will notify you and issue a full refund automatically

Payment timing

  • Pre-orders are charged at the time of order placement to secure your allocation
  • If the final price changes (due to manufacturer adjustments), we will contact you before shipping with the option to proceed or receive a full refund

Estimated delivery

Pre-order delivery dates are estimates provided by manufacturers and are subject to change. We update estimated dates on the product page as new information becomes available and notify affected customers by email.

Subscriptions

  • You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to subscription benefits until then
  • We do not offer partial refunds for unused time within a billing period
  • If you cancel within the first 24 hours of a new subscription, we issue a full refund of the first payment

Marketplace orders

For peer-to-peer marketplace transactions, the cancellation process differs:

  • Buyers may cancel an order at any time before the seller marks it as shipped
  • Sellers must confirm orders within the platform-specified deadline (typically 72 hours). Unconfirmed orders are automatically cancelled
  • Once shipped, cancellations are not possible — any issues must be resolved through our marketplace dispute process

Refund method

All cancellation refunds are returned to your original payment method. Processing time depends on your bank or payment provider but typically takes 3 to 10 business days after we approve the cancellation.
